Website

Making a website was a challenging experience, but I learned a lot. I think having a website is a good idea that I will use when I'm a teacher.

The End of the Semester

Wow! This semester has gone by so fast I can't believe it's over. I hope the next three fly by too! I've been so busy with all this work I haven't even had time to be excited about the summer. But I think most of it is behind me. I still have a lot to do but I can now see the light! It's been fun. I hope everyone has a great summer!

Web Tool

Tonight in class we worked with web tools. I can see how this will be a very useful tool in the classroom. I think the most useful thing we did tonight was creating a rubric. This was a completely new experience for me but I think it will be something that I can use a lot in the future. I also like the puzzle generator. This is something I could use for almost any lesson. It's a fun idea to reinforce concepts with things like crossword puzzles or word searches.

Essay Questions

4. What role does technology play in the context of learning 21st century skills and content? (chapter 2)
Technology plays a huge role in the learning of 21st century skills. Technology helps improve standardized test scores, increase application and production of knowledge for the real world, increase ability for students to manage learning, increase ability to promote achievement for special needs students and improve access to information that increases knowledge, inquiry, and depth of investigation.

7. How successful are you at finding information online? What are your personal search habits? (chapter 4)
My personal search habit is using yahoo until I give up. I think my skill for finding information online could improve. I can usually find what I'm looking for but the more complex it is the more difficult it becomes. However, I don't think my skills are inhibiting my schooling.

How Not to Lose Face on Facebook

While I imagine that this situation was embarrassing for the professor involved, I don't think anything she said was damaging to her career. It's a good thing she learned her lesson before she posted something that could have hurt someone's reputation and possibly ruined her career. I think that people should learn that anything posted online can some how or another get into someones hands that it wasn't meant for, this is a risk we take. But like that article said I think people are slowly catching on and it won't be long before everyone learns from situations like this.

Blogging

I know we are supposed to be blogging but I'm not to sure what about. We have some work due by February 25 that I'm trying to become familiar with. It's hard to read complicated instructions when you are only one of two in a computer lab and the other patron insists on laughing out loud for thirty minutes (yes, she's by herself and very distracting)... Is this worth blogging about?
